• DGL: DIVERSE graphics interface to OpenGL was recently developed to run
  on the DADS system at the UVAG in the summer of 2004 (Creator: Andrew Ray)
  which was funded by the Virginia Tech Foundation CAVE Rennovation Account.
  DGL was orginally developed by Chris Logie as a ESM4714 class project. DGL
  continued to be developed for the ONR-NAVCIITI TALOSS project for NUWC.

  The CAVELib API Version 2.6 is installed on the:

    Modeling and Visualization Classroom (SMVC)

• Visual Molecular Dynamics VMD (opensource)

VMD is a NIH resource used for macromolecular modeling and bioinformatics. VMD is an "open-source" molecular visualization program for displaying, animating, and analyzing large biomolecular systems using 3-D graphics and built-in scripting. VMD supports computers running MacOS-X, Unix (SGI-IRIX, Sun Solaris), Linux or Windows, is distributed free of charge, and includes source code. VMD is installed on the Virginia Tech CAVE(tm) SGI Power Onyx computer

• Visualization Toolkit VTK (opensource)

VTK was designed to work with DGL on the SGI Power Onyx CAVE computer and also the DADS CAVE computer system. Mike Shore created the VTK link to the DIVERSE DGL API (vtk4DGL).

This Users Group provides VR users worldwide a place to share ideas, solutions and discoveries. A list of immersive software applications can be downloaded form this web site. Many of these applications have been installed on the VT-CAVE(tm) and can be accessed off of the SGI Desktop "Toolchest"->CAVE->Demo->CAVERN-"Button-Fly".
• CRUMBS is a biomedical volumetirc immersive software application developed by Rachael Brady. CRUMBS is described in anarchived NCSA Access Article "On the Trail of 3D Images". CRUMBS is installed on the VT-CAVE(tm)

• NCSA Renaissance Experimental and Numberical Lab Software: running on SGI workstations.
All software in this list is compatible with AFS and with the IRIX 5.2 OS. Licensed, public-domain, and locally developed software codes are included.
